"Katie and Mouin Rabbani discuss a recent report showing that Dr. Adnan al-Bursh who died while in Israeli custody was actually ra*ed to death. Al-Bursh, 49, was a father of five, an adviser to the Palestine national football team, an orthopedic surgeon and the head of orthopedics at the Gaza Strip's largest medical facility, Al-Shifa Hospital. He was extremely brave and selfless and refused to leave his patients’ side. He was taken to the notorious prison Sde Teiman and a witness has revealed his excruciating final moments of torture and sexual assault. Yet, the media is as silent about this story as it has been about the other rapes committed by Israeli soldiers, or the right to rape protests in Israel, or the knesset member saying “inserting sticks into people’s rectums” is “legitamate” or the rabbi blessing a rapist soldier. As Mouin explains, these stories don’t “fit the story we're constantly being told of these absolutely beautiful, angelic, innocent, Israeli victims who, genocide notwithstanding, would never hurt a fly and these Palestinians who are evil incarnate.”

I'm guessing that Israel never got the memo around 'Separation Of Church & State', irregardless, that notion is as stable as wet cardboard armor. When 'The State' needs to use religion to bolster its causes, to 'rally the troops', their collective indoctrination & pressure the faithful to sacrifice their hard-earned raising of their children to the meat grinder of warmongering corporations & the cowering 1%, they do, the Catholic Church did it for centuries and maintain that joker card indefinitely if needed... Zionism isn't Judaism >but< the conflation is such that it creates an antithetical church in the mind's eye to serve other masters, a Shadow Temple on an upside-down mount whose apex is deep underground... Far right evangelicals praying over bombs for Iraq comes to mind and Bishops salivating over assault rifles with big scopes...

'Separation Of Church & State' has never actually happened in America, it's simply another propaganda-toy used to give the semblance of democracy & paradoxically maintain the status quo 'appearance' of 'positive' division. Moral/Ethical 'principles' have no anchor in Washington D.C., no core, they are bought and sold like meat on hooks daily, while some come home in propagandized flag draped coffins as if a family's loss is somehow understood at all by those who actually start wars they then turn around and blame on their victims when they fight back...
